Had a blast here for girls night! This place is vibey and cozy at the same time. We got seated in the enclosed outdoor area and they provided blankets and had heaters on. It wasn't a problem at all. The food was great! Lamb chops were the star of the night and nicely sized to share. Drinks were delicious. I got the spicy marg but it's named differently on the menu. Toasted halloumi came with a fiery show and was also delicious. Octopus was nice and tender but smaller portions as it was an app. Service was awesome. Our waitress was super sweet and shared fun stories. Would def be back.
Absolutely fabulous spot for a girls night out or date night. Nice ambiance and service was great on a busy Friday evening. We started with the Pikilia-- Tzatziki, Hummus and Kopanisti in addition to the Spanakopita Spring Rolls to share. These were all SO delicious. We also all ordered the Santorini Summer cocktail, which we all enjoyed. It's definitely on the pricier side, and our bill before tip & tax ended up being just over $360 for 4 people. This included 2 appetizers to share, entrees for each of us and 2 cocktails each, so none of us were shocked.
Lola Taverna is such a cool spot. The food and drinks were amazing & the vibe/location is unbeatable. Service was great & food was delicious! Presentation of the dishes could've been a bit better considering this place is not cheap but the taste is definitely there. I got the shrimp orzo, which was amazing! Buttery savory, tomatoey goodness. Portion size was big so it was shareable. Highly recommend this dish!
We enjoyed an early Sunday night dinner at Lola Taverna during a weekend trip to NYC. Lola Taverna has a beautiful, intimate ambiance with quick service and delicious shareable plates. I really enjoyed my cocktails - dirty martini & Aphrodite's coupe! As for food, we ordered 3 pikila spreads that came with incredible pita: - TZATZIKI - MELITZANOSALATA - KOPANISTI My personal favorite was the whipped spicy feta, chili oil dip! We also ordered the chicken gyro bao buns, SAGANAKI FONDUE and the SPANAKOPITA spring rolls. The saganaki fondue is lit at the table and delicious! I loved the spanakopita spring rolls as well. The chicken gyro bao buns weren't as great as I was hoping they would be - they needed to be a bit warmer / have more kick! Lola is definitely expensive for what you get, but everything we ate was great.
Such a good Greek spot in the soho area! I love the floral outdoor decor and such a cute trendy spot with lots of great good options as well. The cocktails were very creative and I loved the twist on the Negroni I had. The chicken souvlaki was a great portion to share and I really enjoyed the sauce it came with. Definitely recommend starting off with the pikila (choice of 3 spreads) and the eggplant and red pepper dips were my favorite! The staff was also very attentive. I would go back and try more options.
I'm shocked this place has such a low rating, we had such an amazing experience here from the staff and service to the food and vibe. First off, the food is coursed out so they give suggestions if asked and take the order all at once so that they can slowly give us different items. Food: We got 3 dips (hummus, muhamarra, and tzatziki) and all three of them were so good! The pita that it comes with is fresh and hot and I LOVE that! They also give you a lot of pita so you never feel like you're going to run out. For Mezze we got the Saganaki Fondue, Spanakopita Spring Rolls, Impossible Meatballs, Toasted Halloumi, and Grilled Eggplant. All the food was delicious and definitely memorable. Service: The service was great. All the staff were very friendly and were always open to offering suggestions. They also did a very good job explaining how the food would be coursed out. Price: The restaurant was on the pricey side. There were three of us and our total came out to over $90/person. Keep in mind only one of us got a drink. For food we got the pikilia (3 dips) and 5 mezze items so it felt a little pricey. Each mezze item was over $20 and the entrees were even higher. Ambiance: The vibe of the restaurant is amazing. The florals and decor really adds to the romantic and beautiful atmosphere. You can also tell that they spent time figuring out the best utensils and dish ware to use to match everything else.
The steak was SO good and creekstone farm's quality too (halal as well)! Enjoyed the octopus in hummus which was a unique combo but worked well. I thought that the dips were good but not amazing and same with the eggplant we ordered. The service was great and the ambiance is AMAZING being in soho with pretty outdoor seating. However, it is definitely NYC expensive and for the money i don't give it gets a full 5/5 but rather a solid 4/5.
I've gotten dinner at Lola Taverna twice and it's a cute spot! The flowers outside give it a beautiful ambiance, especially during the warmer months. However, outdoor seating was very close together last time I went, and it felt like our table was on top of the other tables around us. Indoor dining was similar when I went last week, although it wasn't too busy, so we had more room. Both times I've dined here I've ordered salads, so I can't speak to the overall menu. Most recently, I tried The Aegean Salad, which came with kale, shaved Brussel sprouts and chunks of bacon. Paired with a light dressing, it was delicious! The serving was a nice size for a dinner salad too. Only downside was that the service was a little disjointed. We ordered a bottle of wine and it took a while for them to get it from their cellar, and our salads came out before they served the wine. Otherwise, it was a nice meal and I'm sure I'll be back again soon!
Lola Taverna, a Greek cuisine hotspot in Soho. The atmosphere is inspired by the Greek Isles. You can't miss it when walking down the street. It's filled with floral decorations and crowds of people. How was the food?: I it! The lamb chops were cooked "medium" just the way I like them. The pita bread with feta cheese and chilli oil hummus was excellent. The "Paros Plunge" cocktail had coconut, yuzu, sake and vodka, I WAS SOLD! LOL
I've eaten a lot of French fries in my life and this place had the best I have ever tasted. No joke. My sister and I popped in for a casual lunch this weekend and shared pikilia (red pepper, eggplant and spicy feta), spanakopita spring rolls, chicken gyro bao buns and the fries. It was SO delicious and a lot of food for each of us. We were coming from the gym (aka very hungry) and ended up taking some food home bc despite how good it was it was too much to finish. Service was great, vibe was very buzzy, people watching was perfect as it's a busy corner - we will definitely be back.
